Patrol is the backbone of the BCSO. Deputies respond to calls for service across all of Blaine County 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Patrol operates across three geographic sectors: North (Paleto Bay), Central (Sandy Shores), and South (Grapeseed / Route 68).

The BCSO is proud to welcome Deputy Owen Shaw (Badge #387) and Deputy Hana Mori (Badge #388) to the Patrol Division following successful completion of the BCSO Training Academy and Field Training Program. Both deputies will serve on the Sandy Shores patrol rotation. Welcome to the team!

The BCSO Detective Division investigates serious crimes including homicides, sexual assaults, robberies, narcotics trafficking, and major property crimes. The division is led by Captain Yomi Hakai (Badge #311), whose landmark forensic work closed 40+ cold cases dating back to 1981 — one of the most significant investigative achievements in BCSO history.
The Forensics unit operates a fully-equipped evidence processing lab at BCSO HQ and works in close coordination with the San Andreas State Bureau of Investigation (SASBI).

The BCSO Communications Center handles all 911 emergency calls, non-emergency dispatch, and inter-agency radio communications for Blaine County. The center operates 24 hours a day and is staffed by certified Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) operators.
Under Captain Ting Ling (Badge #308), the Communications Division has implemented updated CAD software (Sonoran CAD) and a new officer safety protocol for rapid call triaging.

The BCSO Game Warden Division enforces wildlife, hunting, fishing, and environmental protection laws across Blaine County's vast rural and wilderness areas. Game Wardens have full law enforcement authority and regularly assist patrol with remote and off-road incidents.
The division covers critical habitats including the Alamo Sea, the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness, and the agricultural zones of Grapeseed and Paleto Bay. Wardens conduct boat patrols, off-road vehicle enforcement, and poaching investigations.

The Traffic Enforcement Unit handles DUI enforcement, accident investigation, commercial vehicle compliance, and speed enforcement on county roads and highways. Route 68 and the Great Ocean Highway are priority corridors.
The Firearms Training function is led by Sergeant Doug Wallace (Badge #323), who serves simultaneously as the department's Firearms Instructor and co-leads the Gang & Narcotics Taskforce alongside the Detective Division. Sgt. Wallace coordinates quarterly qualification shoots and oversees BCSO armory compliance.

K-9 teams are certified through the San Andreas Police K-9 Association. Teams support patrol, Detective Division, and SWAT operations as needed.

The BCSO SWAT team is a collateral-duty unit responding to high-risk warrant service, hostage/barricade situations, and other critical incidents requiring specialized tactics and equipment. Members maintain full-time patrol or investigative assignments and train monthly. Master Sergeant Collins maintains FTO oversight of any SWAT-adjacent personnel onboarding.

The BCSO Corrections Division operates the Blaine County Jail, a 120-bed facility at BCSO Headquarters in Sandy Shores. The facility processes approximately 800 bookings annually and houses pre-trial detainees and sentenced misdemeanants.
